Hacienda La Caravedo, established in 1684 in the Ica Valley of Peru, is recognized as the oldest continuously operating distillery in the Americas. Caravedo Quebranta is a pisco puro — made from a single grape variety — using the "macho grape" of Peruvian pisco production. Quebranta is a non-aromatic grape developed in Peru after Spanish settlers brought vines to the country in the 16th century, and it produces a fuller-bodied, more structured pisco than aromatic varieties like Italia or Torontel. The production is strict: estate-grown grapes, hand-harvested, naturally fermented into wine, then single-distilled in copper alembic pot stills to exactly 40% ABV with no additives of any kind — no water, no color, no sugar. The result is full-bodied, oily, and smooth, with ripe stone fruit, almond, subtle floral undertones, and a clean, vinous finish.
Cocktail Suggestions: Pisco Sour (pisco, lime juice, egg white, Angostura, simple syrup); Chilcano (pisco, ginger ale, lime, Angostura bitters); Pisco Martini (pisco, dry vermouth, lemon twist); Pisco Punch (pisco, pineapple juice, lime, simple syrup); sip neat to appreciate the grape character
