Cascina delle Rose Barbaresco Tre Stelle 2022

Cascina delle Rose, a 5-hectare estate in the Rio Sordo Valley of Barbaresco, is a family affair helmed by Giovanna Rizzolio and Italo Sobrino along with their sons, Riccardo and Davide. Established in 1948 but reborn under its current label in 1992, the estate is a vibrant tapestry of organic viticulture, enriched by the omnipresent roses. With a commitment to organic practices, Cascina delle Rose minimizes environmental impact by shunning herbicides and using only a trace of copper and sulfur in their vineyards. The steep hillside vineyards are worked by hand, allowing for an intimate approach to viticulture, emblematic of the Piemonte region’s rich wine heritage.

The 2022 is riper and more immediately expressive than the 2021 — a warm year that brought generosity of fruit while Rizzolio's restraint kept concentration in check. Dark cherry, dried rose, dried herbs, and supple tannins make this the most approachable of the recent trio on release.
