Contratto Bitter

Contratto Bitter is a bitter aperitif produced by the classic Contratto estate--the latter founded in 1867. This is a grape-based distillate that is blended with extracts of 24 different herbs, spices, roots, and seeds. This includes aloe, bitter orange, sweet orange, wormwood, cloves, cardamom, gentian, hibiscus, elecampane, juniper, mint, rhubarb, sage, and nettle. A sweetening agent, beet sugar, is added and it is naturally colored with carrot and beetroot extracts. This is an intuitive alternative for Campari that has more depth and does not contain artificial coloring.

Cocktail suggestion: Spritz or Negroni.
