Domaine Du Trapadis Les Cras Rasteau

Rasteau is the Southern Rhône's most serious red appellation, and Helen Durand's Les Cras is among its finest expressions. Rooted in clay-limestone soils threaded with rolled pebbles, the blend is anchored by old-vine Grenache with Syrah, Carignan, and Mourvèdre as supporting players. Grapes are hand-picked, destemmed, and fermented with native yeast before aging 18 months on fine lees in cement vats — no wood, no intervention. The result is a deeply aromatic, full-bodied wine of iris, garrigue, blackberry, and a long saline finish. The domaine has been certified biodynamic since 1996.
