Georgas Family Retsina Black Label

Dimitris Georgas is a fourth-generation farmer in Spata — the ancient heartland of both Retsina and the Savatiano grape, just outside Athens — who farms his estate biodynamically with remarkably low yields. The Black Label is his most uncompromising expression: 100% Savatiano wild-fermented with nine days of skin contact and co-fermented with fresh local pine resin, bottled with zero sulfur and zero additives. The result is not the turpentine retsina of taverna cliché, but something revelatory: amber-colored, with citrus peel, brine, pine needle, and preserved lemon on a textured, mineral palate. A living link to one of the world's oldest winemaking traditions.
