Guilhem et Jean-Hugues Goisot Aligote

Domaine Goisot is tucked into Saint-Bris in the Côte d'Auxerre — a village that shares the same Kimmeridgian limestone bedrock and cool northerly climate as neighboring Chablis, but was excluded from that appellation after phylloxera devastated the region. Jean-Hugues Goisot was one of Burgundy's earliest biodynamic practitioners; today his son Guilhem upholds those standards across 6.3 hectares of Aligoté vines on high, cool chalky slopes. Hand-harvested, pressed gently, fermented with native yeasts, and aged on fine lees in stainless steel, the wine is exceedingly fresh and precise: hawthorn, Williams pear, and hazelnut on the nose; lemon, white flower, and spice on a taut, mineral palate. Extraordinary quality-to-price ratio — one of the best Aligoté bottlings in Burgundy.
