Henry of Pelham Baco Noir

Henry of Pelham has been one of Ontario's most respected family estates since releasing their first vintage in 1988, and their Baco Noir is widely regarded as the benchmark for this distinctively Canadian grape. The Speck Brothers — who pioneered Baco Noir viticulture in Niagara — have been farming estate vines on Short Hills Bench since 1984, and the depth of those roots shows in the wine. Deep ruby-purple, with smoky aromas of dark cherry, blueberry, prune, and spice leading to a full-bodied palate with toasty American oak, chocolate, black pepper, and vibrant acidity. An honest, characterful expression of a variety that thrives nowhere else quite like the Niagara Peninsula.
