Il Mostro Trebbiano D'Abruzzo Thyrus

Il Mostro is the latest project from Poggio Anima, one of the most dynamic wine ventures in Italy. The name Thyrus comes from a medieval legend of a river dragon that besieged Terni — a fitting mascot for a wine with genuine character. Sourced from southeast-facing vineyards at 200 meters elevation in Abruzzo, the Trebbiano grapes are farmed organically, given 12 hours of skin contact in stainless steel for texture, then pressed and fermented in concrete to preserve freshness. The result is straw yellow, bright, and dry — white peach, lemon, and subtle basil on a clean, mineral palate with a lifted, bright finish. Excellent value for a thoughtfully made Italian white.
