Il Pioppo Catarratto

Il Pioppo Catarratto shows bright straw-yellow with green flecks, opening on pineapple and orange peel over orange blossom — but it's the saline minerality underneath that gives the tropical fruit its frame and keeps the finish tight and fresh.

Il Pioppo farms organically, treating soil health and biodiversity as preconditions for good fruit rather than marketing. Grapes are chilled before pressing, fermented in stainless, and rested six months in tank. Catarratto is Sicily's most widely planted white grape, cultivated on the island for more than three centuries — and still one of its most underrated.
