L.N. Mattei Cap Corse Rouge Quinquina

L.N. Mattei Cap Corse Rouge Quinquina is a classic French apéritif wine from Corsica created in 1872, featuring a base of Muscat and Vermentinu grapes blended with cinchona bark, walnuts, and local cedrat (citron). On the nose, are aromas of red berries, dried figs, orange peel, warm spices, and herbal and floral undertones. On the rich and bittersweet palate are characteristics of cherry, plum, cinnamon, bitter orange, and licorice–all alongside an earthy backbone. The lengthy finish shows dark fruit, spice, herbs, and quinine. Drink neat, over ice and with a splash of club soda.
