The soil composition, dominated by sand and enriched with limestone and granite, provides an ideal canvas for this grape. Mamete Prevostini, a name synonymous with the terraced landscapes of Valtellina, carries a rich history that dates back to the mid-1940s. The Prevostini family's roots began with a cherished restaurant in Sondrio, Lombardy, where they crafted house wines from the region's distinct Nebbiolo, locally termed Chiavennasca. These wines drew inspiration from renowned Valtellina villages like Sassella, Grumello, and Inferno.
