The Mars Maltage "Cosmo" limited release expression finishes their Iwai Tradition blended whisky over the course of one year in ex-red wine casks to impart sweet, fruity notes onto the smooth, medium-bodied, ruby-red spirit. The fruity and spicy palate concludes with pleasant lingering tannins on the finish.
Aromas of hot cocoa with strawberry marshmallows are underscored with wet cedar before yielding to a palate of gentle oak, resinous herbs, and lemon zest. Dark chocolate mingles with black tea tannin and angelica root on the finish with a lingering hint of coconut and sea salt.
