Primitivo Quiles Raspay Reserva

Primitivo Quiles Raspay Reserva 2019 is a bold dry red wine with some aging already on it that expresses a strong through of eucalyptus followed by raisined dark fruit and old wood; slight pepper dances on the finish. The coating of tannins is balanced by a still-strong thread of acidity. It was aged for 24 months in old American oak barrels.The 80-year old Monastrell vines grow in the sun-drenched heat and land of Alicante.

Food Pairing: lamb dishes, stews, rice with meat or vegetables, braised meats, grilled meats, or roasts.

Monastrell, also known as Mourvèdre or Mataro outside of Spain, grows well in high head, because it is drought resistant thanks in part to its thick skins. It also produces higher levels of antioxidants. Alicante lies in the central-southern part of Spain, contiguous to the Balearic Sea.
