A rare and singular white from Bira Wines, sourced from a historic Malvasia vineyard planted in 1964 in La Arboleda, Tupungato — vineyards the winery describes as having "Italian heart, Argentine soul." The grape itself, a bastard variety on-site for decades, was finally vinified as a standalone after the winemakers recognized its distinctive character. Thirty percent of the wine is fermented on the skins for added texture and complexity, with the remainder handled in new French oak and stainless steel. The result is aromatic and layered — white flowers, white peach, pear, cantaloupe, and hints of rose — with a dry, refreshing core and a savory, malic finish that sets it apart from any obvious category.
Food Pairings: Grilled branzino, risotto with lemon and herbs, fresh ricotta with honey, spring vegetable dishes, mild soft-ripened cheese
