Distilleria Alpe Amer du Val d'Aoste Liqueur

A proudly regional amaro from a family-run distillery in the Valle d'Aosta — the narrow alpine corridor where Italy, France, and Switzerland converge. The recipe draws on 20 locally sourced botanicals including gentian, gentianella, rhubarb root, wormwood, cardamom, mint, and star anise. The herbs are harvested in August, dried, and infused in pure alcohol for about a month; part of the liquid is then re-distilled to deepen the flavor and clarify the color before bottling with spring water and sugar. The result is a bittersweet, herbaceous digestif with genuine alpine character — excellent neat, over ice, or in a Negroni.
