Les Turitelles Altugnac Pinot Noir IGT Pays d'Oc

Les Turitelles Altugnac Pinot Noir is a dry, fruity red wine from the Languedoc region of France. It expresses fresh red berry fruit flavors, baking spice like nutmeg and cinnamon, a hint of mocha, and soft, silky tannins.

The grapes are mostly hand-harvested and then undergo 4-5 days of cold maceration in stainless steel followed by 10 days of light punch down. Then the wines undergo 10 months of aging in 50% stainless steel and 50% French oak barrels, 5% new. Turitelles refers to the marine fossils found in the clay-limestone soils.

Food Pairing: roasted poultry, grilled pork, earthy mushroom dishes, and meaty fish like tuna.
