Osvaldo Viberti Dolcetto D'Alba Galat La Morra

Osvaldo Viberti's family connection to the vines of La Morra — the village at the heart of Barolo country — is deep enough to include a grandfather he still remembers working the rows. After reviving the family estate in 1993, Osvaldo has farmed naturally without pesticide use and produces around 40,000 bottles annually with consulting winemaker Sergio Molino. The Galat Dolcetto comes from a single hectare of vines in the Borgata Serra dei Turchi, west-facing on clay-limestone soils at 250–300 meters. Fermented for six days and released unoaked, it is what Dolcetto at its best always was: ruby red, perfumed with small red fruits and cherries, light in body, fine in structure, and a pleasure from the first sip. An ideal everyday red from a producer far better known for his Barolo.
