Andria Gvino Kakheti Rkatsiteli Vardisperi Vardo Qvevri

Andria Gvino Kakheti Rkatsiteli Vardisperi Vardo Qvevri dry unfiltered amber wine that expresses beautiful perfumed notes threading through notes of dried apricota and almond–then transitioning to clay minerality, nuttiness, and spice. What's especially unique about this wine is the strain of Rkatsiteli has a mutation that colored the grape skins pink. It's a white wine grape that can produce a rosé hue–similar to Pinot Gris. This is a stunning orange / rosé wine that can be enjoyed on its own or paired with a feast of dishes.

Food Pairing: Smoky mtsvadi barbecued lamb, charred kebabs, satsivi, roasted vegetables with garlic and herbs, hard and sharp cheeses, earthy root vegetables, spiced lentils, cumin and coriander-heavy dishes.

From the Andrias Gvino winery: "We are looking to have high quality wines, and compromise quantity for that. We do not irrigate our vineyards, do not use any fertilizers, and perform green harvest as well. For that reason, we have 3-4 times less crop in our vineyards than usual growers. After harvest, before crushing grapes, we sort them to crush only the best berries and remove not only Materials other than Grapes (MoG), but inferior quality grapes as well, that also decrease our yields. And finally, after fermentation completes, we do not press pomace, and take only free run wine, the rest is going to distillation of our fine grape whiskey, that we call Chacha in Georgian."
