Chateau de Grandchamp Montagne-Saint Emilion Bordeaux

This Bordeaux is a dry red blend that is a smooth and balanced expression of truffles, spice, dark fruit, and tannins. It feels rich, its quality far exceeding its value. Harvest done by hand to protect the grapes. Vinified and aged in concrete vats to preserve the fruits.

Chateau de Grandchamp is from the ancient commune of Parsac in Saint Emilion, its vineyards situated on the right bank of the Dordogne. The head vigneron, Gonzague Maurice, manually farms the vines, sowing grass between the vines by hand, and carefully ploughs in alternate rows. He is an organic farmer, but he eschewed paying the high price for organic certification to allow the price of the wines to remain affordable.

Food Pairing: Grilled ribeye, roast lamb, pepper-crusted filet mignon, seared duck breast, roasted qual, coq au vin, roasted pork chops, pork tenderloin in wild mushroom sauce, lentil and tomato stews, mushroom risotto, medium-aged or soft cheeses.
