Francois Villard Syrah L'appel Des Sereines

Francois Villard Syrah L'appel Des Sereines is a dry. juicy, and peppery young vine Syrah that is one of the more easy-drinking Syrah cuvées from Rhone. Intrinsic traits to Syrah like violets and blackberries also feature on the palate. It has plenty of tannin to coat the upper palate, but it doesn't feel intensely gripping.

The young vine Syrah grapes are from the villages of Chavanay, Ardoix, Saint-Michel-sur-Rhône, and Verin, all with a decomposed granite soil. Twelve day maceration with fifty percent whole clusters in stainless steel vats followed by fifteen months of aging, 75% in oak vats, and 25% in neutral barrels.
