Santa Maria Le Bombarde Cannonau is a dry red wine that expresses aromas of cherry, raspberry, and plum, layered with Mediterranean herbs, spicy nuance, a touch of balsamic, and earthy minerality. The palate is medium-bodied with warm, velvety tannin and bright acidity; the finish is smooth and extended. Cannonau is the local Sardinian name for Grenache, which is why Grenache drinkers may taste a likeness. The fermentation occurred in stainless steel to preserve fruit aromas and acidity, followed by minimal oak aging to soften the texture.
