Valle dell'Acate Vittoria Il Frappato

Founded in the late 19th century by Giuseppe Jacono and now led by sixth-generation Gaetana Jacono, the estate is fully organic and specializes in native grapes. Critics have called its Frappato the best in Sicily. If you love tonic, lean, silky wines that sit close to Pinot Noir, this is the Sicilian answer — six months in stainless and at least three in bottle, no oak, giving a translucent ruby with raspberry, blackberry, violet, and sage, vigorous and fresh with a dry, persistent close. Wild berry and sour cherry with an earthy, almost green-olive savor, and a mild 13%. Serve it with a chill.
