Edgar Brutler Sefu White

Edgar Brutler Sefu White is an interesting natural white wine with hints of smoke, mint, and apple laying along the palate's journey. The juices co-fermented in 225L oak barrels, one 3000L stainless steel tank,and three 1000L stainless steel tanks, allowing a balance of heady natural funkiness and vibrant freshness. The aging occurs in 80% stainless steel and 20% neutral oak barrel. Unfined, unfiltered. (Another reason we love this wine is the characterization of cats on the label.)

Edgar Brutler's journey really started in the 1990s, when his family purchased old vineyard land, after the USSR regime collapse. His family along with others began rebuilding Romania's wine industry to express the beauty of their nationality through terroir and wine. He's an exceptional wine maker who focuses on organic and biodynamic farming, and who makes his own compost for the vines. The precision in his winemaking is distilled to his sense of understanding grapes and styles of barreling, of aging and when the wines are just right for bottling.
