Heiligenblut Pet Nat

Heiligenblut Pet Nat 2023 is a dry, skin contact wine that expresses light floral aromatics, lychee, grapefruit, herbal spice, and yeasty freshness along a structure of light bubbles and generous acidity.

A note on provenance: Weingut Heiligenblut is a German estate located in Alzey-Weinheim in Rheinhessen — not Austria — situated in the historic Heiliger Blutberg monopole vineyard. The Pét-Nat is made from 55-yeard old Scheurebe grown in rare black volcanic (melaphyre) soils, which give the wine a distinctive mineral energy. The grapes receive a brief skin maceration before being bottled mid-fermentation in the ancestral method — unfined, unfiltered, with no added sulfur — producing a lightly cloudy, tropical, and textured sparkling wine at low alcohol. A genuinely singular bottle from a singular piece of land.
