Thomas Labille Petit Chablis is a dry white wine with a fruity nose, and the palate is dominated by lemon notes with fresh, tart aromas. The Chardonnay grapes ferment in oak barrels and age in oak as well for 6-10 months. Don't let the oak barreling mention fool you: this is not a buttery or oaky Chardonnay. The freshness is impressive in its expressiveness.
Food Pairing: scallops, mussels, clams, herb-infused lemon chicken, asparagus dishes, green salads, cheese plates
Petit Chablis is an appellation just south of Chablis, in the northwestern most part of Burgundy. The Chardonnay vines grow on high plateaus on younger Portlandian limestone soils rather than the Kimmeridgian limestone found in the Chablis appellation.
