Dimakopoulos Koritsanos The Black

Dimakopoulos Koritsanos The Black is a light, fruity dry red wine from the Koritsanos grape–the latter indigenous to Patras, on the northwestern coast of the Peloponnese. The aromas and palate characteristics are dominated by sour cherries, mulberries, and wild sage, interwoven with dried herbs, soft spices, and subtle rustic or earthy undertones. It displays bright balanced acidity and very gentle, smooth tannin. The juices were fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve natural freshness, occurring for 15-20 days. Aging also occurred in stainless steel tanks for 8 months.

Food Pairing: stuffed grape leaves, classic meza, pork or chicken souvlaki, lamb skewers, gyro, light cold cuts, aged cheeses, roasted root vegetables, and briam.
