The Winey Neighbor spirits feature
Amaro
An Italian bittersweet liqueur whose name simply means bitter. A base spirit or wine is steeped with barks, roots, citrus peel and herbs, then sweetened just enough to make the bitterness welcome. There's no fixed recipe or profile, which is why one bottle tastes like grapefruit pith and the next like a pine forest. Cold, in a small glass after dinner, is the easiest way in.
